Teach your kids that they can trust God, too.
Throughout Isaac and Rebekah’s story in Genesis 24, God takes action step by step to fulfill His promises.
- First, he does lead Abraham’s servant to exactly the right woman.
- Then, the woman says she’s willing to leave her homeland and travel to Canaan with the servant.
- And so, finally, God provides a bride for Isaac.
As God had already said to Abraham in Genesis 18:14a (NKJV):
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
Apparently not!!
That’s why it’s worthwhile to teach this story.
We are human. And even though it isn’t right to doubt the Lord, we do. But this story reminds us that, step by step, God can and will do whatever is necessary to fulfill His word.
And so we can trust Him, because He keeps His promises.
So build a simple lesson around these three questions & their three answers, and you will teach your kids that God always keeps His promises. And you will show your kids, through Isaac and Rebekah’s story, that God can be trusted.
