Objectives of the Belt of Truth Application Activity
Discuss how truth can prepare the Christian for action and/or how truth is foundational to righteousness, faith, etc.
If you don’t know truth (what the Bible says), then you won’t know how to respond to the difficult situations in life. But if you know what the Bible says about the situations you face, you can take what it says and apply it in your life.
It’s crucial to know the Bible well, because it is your source of truth—which determines everything else in your life.
Encourage the kids to think about ways that truth can be foundational in their own lives!
Supplies Needed
Design paper – For this activity, you can use any kind of design paper that you think your kids will like. For girls, this design is really nice. Boys might like this design. {affiliate links}
Pens or markers – I use ones like these. {affiliate link}
Protective sheet covers (or contact paper) – Personally I think that sheet covers like these are WAY easier to use than contact paper. {affiliate link}

Belt of Truth Application Activity Instructions
Think of a current struggle and a Scripture that applies
Ask each child to come up with a situation that he or she is struggling with currently.
Challenge each child to think of a Scripture that speaks about the situation he or she is facing.
If you used the worksheet for Lesson 1 from the Student Workbook, your kids should already have a situation and a Scripture in mind.
Make a reminder of truth to take home
Display the variety of design paper that you have to your kids. Let each child choose a design that he/she likes.
Instruct the children to find “their” truths (the Scripture they chose) in their Bibles. Then they can copy the Scripture onto the design paper using pens or markers.
Explain that the kids are making these papers as reminders of the Bible truth that applies to their own personal struggles—to help them “put on the belt of truth” in their lives daily.
Optional: After the kids have copied “their” verses onto their papers, you can slip the papers into protective sheet covers, or cover them in contact paper, for more durability.
Encourage the kids to hang the papers somewhere they will see them when they need them.
