How to teach kids the books of the New Testament

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John…

It’s not too hard to remember the Gospels.

But when you get into all the epistles–Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians–the kids in your Sunday School class or children’s ministry might start to struggle.

Memory song for learning the books of the New Testament

Use a New Testament books memory song

Learning the books of the New Testament in Sunday School or children’s church will be a breeze when you use the New Testament books song!

Without even trying, your kids will learn the answers to all three of these questions:

  • What are the New Testament books of the Bible?
  • How many books are there in the New Testament of the Bible?
  • What are the names of the 27 books of the New Testament?

Why I like this New Testament books memory song

Below, I’ll recommend a particular New Testament books song to teach your kids. I like this particular version because it is:

  • Lively and fun, which means your kids will actually enjoy learning the books of the New Testament.
  • Catchy, which means you won’t struggle to teach the New Testament books memory song to your kids.
  • Effortless. Music simply makes it SO easy to remember things! Learning the books of the New Testament will be much easier with this books of the New Testament song. That means your job as a Bible teacher will be much easier, too. 😉

Where to find the books of the New Testament song

Find this version of the New Testament books song in one of several places:

Download the recording from Amazon. Don’t be thrown off by the “Toddler” title of the album. This song is great for kids of all ages! Plus it’s easy to listen to and it’s split-track, which means you can mute one speaker and sing along to the music with your kids. This is perfect if you aren’t terribly musical. 😉 Find the books of the New Testament song on Amazon. {affiliate link}

Print out the sheet music. If you do have some musical talent, you’ll be happy to know that you can get sheet music for this song! It’s simple music and easy to follow. So even if you are a beginner musician, I think you’ll still be able to use the sheet music for the New Testament books song. {affiliate link}

Stream the song from YouTube. This is the same recording I recommended above, but found on YouTube. The good news about this is that it’s free. The bad news is that if something goes wrong with your Internet (or you want to use the song at an outdoor VBS or camp where you don’t have Internet access) then you’re in hot water. My advice? Just bite the bullet and grab the books of the New Testament song recording on Amazon. 😉 {affiliate link}
